News Release

In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Bachelor of Innovation Degree program at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Active Release Techniques® (ART®) announces that its founder, Dr. P. Michael Leahy and his wife, Patti Leahy, have donated $100,000 to support the mission of the Bachelor of Innovation Degree program.

Dr. P. Michael Leahy is the innovator behind Active Release Techniques® (ART®), one of the most effective soft tissue treatment therapies available. More than 30 years ago, Dr. Leahy combined his experience as a chiropractor and his knowledge of engineering, anatomy, and biomechanics to pioneer the ART® protocol for resolving soft tissue complaints. Unlike other soft tissue treatment options, ART® therapy utilizes muscle tension and soft tissue knowledge to address muscular adhesions and scar tissue that result in pain. As a result, ART® therapy works rapidly, often reducing pain by as much as 90% in four treatment sessions.

Today, ART® therapy is utilized by every NFL football team, nearly every Major League Baseball team, Olympic athletes, and Ironman triathletes. In order provide relief from soft tissue pain for millions of people around the world, Dr. P. Michael Leahy founded the Active Release Techniques® organization to train, encourage, and assist healthcare professionals in delivering ART® therapy. To date, thousands of healthcare professionals have been certified to provide ART® therapy worldwide.

Dr. Leahy and his wife consider it a privilege to help the next generation of innovators learn to transform their ideas into solutions that benefit others through their support of the Bachelor of Innovation Degree program at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
