Online Recertification Course

Take Me To The Online Recertification Course

The ART® Recertification Course was created to make it easier for ART® Providers to keep up their certification and skill level without having to take a lot of time out of the office. The course covers contact and touch, diagnosis, and protocols for the full body.

Prerequisites

Only Full Body Certified ART® Providers may take this course.

What do I need?

All you need is a computer with speakers, and a high-speed internet connection.

We understand that, for some, making it to a seminar, in person may be challenging, so ART® has developed a new on-line 4 hour course that will allow you to recertify without travel expenses.

ART® has acquired new mobile HD video cameras that are actually worn by the camera crew, allowing them to follow Dr. Leahy or the patient/athlete while care is provided or their event is being performed. With this new cutting edge technology we shall be able to provide Live interactive educational programs.

Note:

This method of recertification is only permitted every other year. Nothing truly replaces an in-person recertification course

During the Live On-line Recertification Course Dr. Leahy will cover:

  1. New Protocols including:
    1. Anterior Deltoid/Infraspinatus
    2. Coraco-clavicular ligaments
    3. Superior Shoulder Capsule (seated, active motion)
    4. Tarsal ligaments for plantar fasciitis
    5. Carpal Ligaments
  2. Protocols that most providers could improve on:
    1. Articularis genu
    2. Hip Capsule
    3. Talar Ligaments
  3. Improving Technique:
    1. Hand positioning
    2. Tension before Compression:
      1. Avoiding skin pull
      2. Increasing palpation sensitivity
      3. Avoiding slide
    3. Contact Tension vs. Tissue Stretch
  4. Diagnosis:
    1. Examination Hierarchy
    2. Examination Methods
  5. Case Studies:
    1. Golf Biomechanics
    2. Running Cases
  6. Live Guest Participant Cases:
    1. Live case studies sent from ART® providers
    2. Live protocol discussion with the on-line participants

There is immediate clinical application for chiropractors, physicians, osteopaths, massage therapists, physical and occupational therapists, and certified athletic trainers.

Course objectives stated in measurable and behavioral terms as correlated to Bloom’s Taxonomy.

  1. Locates correct structures when asked, based on anatomical names (Knowledge)
  2. Selects the appropriate protocol treatment for the structure identified as having an issue (Knowledge)
  3. Explains the patient movement required to shorten and lengthen the structure of interest (Comprehension)
  4. Restates the Law of Repetitive Motion and identifies implications for muscular skeletal disorders (Comprehension)
  5. Applies the learned contact, tension and motion of a protocol to a structure on an instructor who is imitating a patient (Application)
  6. Produces the full structural movement required to effectively resolve issues with muscle or tissues (Application)
  7. Correctly differentiates healthy versus unhealthy tissue based on biomechanical principles using palpation (Analysis)
  8. Compares the movement and feel of healthy versus unhealthy tissue to detect problems with muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves within the human anatomical system (Analysis)
  9. Gives an example of a clinical presentation expected for an issue for a particular protocol structure (Synthesis)
  10. Develops an effective treatment plan for patients incorporating Active Release Techniques integrated with past training (Synthesis)
  11. Recommends correct protocol both for structure involved as well as location of unhealthy tissue within the structure (Evaluation)
  12. Provides peer-review critique to colleagues who are demonstrating protocol application (Evaluation)

Cancellations / Returns

Please note that travel arrangements should not be made until confirmation that registration in a course has been received and approved to avoid change fees.

All Cancellations / Returns must be made within 90 days from the date of purchase to receive a refund. Cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to the course start date to receive a full refund. All cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the course start date will be refunded, minus a $100 cancellation fee. All participants who cancel a course and receive a refund must also return the study materials for that course. Due to the personalized nature of the study materials, all returns on study material will incur a $295 return fee. All returns must be cleared through the ART® office and ART® must receive the materials and inspect them before issuing a refund. A "Returned Materials Declaration" must also be signed and returned verifying that the study materials have not been reproduced or distributed. Refunds will be applied to the original credit card or by the original form of payment only. Any attendance to a live class voids all seminar refunds, regardless of date of purchase. **IMPORTANT: Functional Movement is paid a portion of the seminar fees for the SFMA certification. Providers who are taking the SFMA portion for the first time will NOT be refunded the Functional Movement fee if they have accessed the required online pre-course material.
